Competition stages
First Round
Employers, colleagues and clients must nominate their DRIVER OF THE YEAR using the DRIVEROFTHEYEAR2007.COM website or by writing to DRIVER OF THE YEAR, Clearstone, 4 Greenland Place, London, NW1 0AP.
Second Round
Nominations will go through a short-listing process, based on a series of set criteria covering all aspects of the individual including driving, personality, professionalism and outsanding levels of service beyond the call of duty.
Semi Finals
Following short listing, members of the Clearstone management team will pay a personal visit to semi-finalists’ place of work, spending time with each individual, talking to colleagues and observing, as well as carrying out specially designed DRIVER OF THE YEAR one-to-one interviews.
Finals
The 5 regional finalists will be invited to a final assessment day at our principal training school, under the close scrutiny of expert panel of judges, which includes the Chief Executive of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, the Chief Executive of the Road Haulage Association, a senior Clearstone instructor and the editor of The Mirror Works section in The Daily Mirror.
The day will begin behind the wheel in one of Clearstone’s vehicles, with a series of highly challenging maneuvers and driving sequences, under the close inspection of our judges. Tough competency based interviews will then take place with each finalist, before spending time with each member of the judging panel, where they will be asked a series of questions of a wide range of personal and industry related topics.
The results from the day’s events will be analysed by the judges and individual feedback will be discussed at the panel’s round-table session, in order to decide of the WINNER of the 2007 DRIVER OF THE YEAR competition!
